Back in November 2025, we invited Lauren and Ben out to Westwood for a very different kind of photoshoot, right in the middle of the construction site. With the venue still taking shape, it was so special to have them there and imagine what their special day would eventually look like. Fast forward to their wedding day, and seeing it all come to life was pretty incredible. What was once a construction site had become the beautiful setting where they said, “I do.”

Six years ago, Lauren and Ben met through mutual friends. It was a simple beginning to what would become a beautiful, sometimes hilarious, and completely unforgettable love story. If their wedding day was any indication, these two have always known how to make life together memorable. From an accidental “I love you” to a proposal that involved Thai EMS, Lauren and Ben’s relationship has never been about everything going exactly according to plan. Instead, it has been about finding joy in the unexpected, laughing through the chaos, and choosing each other through it all. Now, six years after they first met, they are husband and wife. And their wedding day was every bit as beautiful as the love they were celebrating.

When Lauren dreamed about her wedding, she knew exactly how she wanted it to feel: timeless, classic, and intimate.
Westwood provided the perfect setting for that vision.
Lauren was especially excited to see the courtyard come to life and to experience the indoor bar, two spaces she had been dreaming about throughout the planning process. And seeing those spaces filled with their closest family and friends made the day feel even more special. It felt intimate. It felt joyful. It felt like two people who have spent years learning each other, laughing together, and building a life finally getting to celebrate the next chapter.
A Love Story With a Sense of Humor
Westwood asked Ben who said “I love you” first, and we got a story rather than an answer.
Early in their relationship, Ben apparently mumbled something under his breath that Lauren heard as “I love you.” Naturally, because Lauren is such a loving person, she said it back. The only problem? That wasn’t actually what Ben had said. Somehow, this little misunderstanding became one of the many funny milestones that would become part of their story. And it says a lot about these two. Their relationship isn’t defined by perfectly planned moments, It’s defined by the stories they collect along the way!
Their Kind of Romance
For Lauren and Ben, a perfect date night doesn’t have to be complicated. Dinner and drinks, comedy show, maybe a movie. Although the movie option comes with a predictable ending: a nap that eventually turns into a full night’s sleep. It’s the kind of ordinary, comfortable love that is actually anything but ordinary. The kind where spending time together is enough. Where laughter comes easily. Where your favorite person is also the person you can fall asleep next to without thinking twice.
The Proposal They Will Never Forget
Then there was Thailand. Ben had planned the perfect surprise proposal; a beautiful beach, a special dinner, flowers, and a tent. Everything was arranged for a romantic evening that Lauren would never forget.
And she didn’t.
Just not for the reasons Ben expected. The engagement itself went perfectly. But once dinner began, Ben became ill, believed to be from food poisoning earlier that day. The situation became so serious that Thai EMS was called. Not exactly the proposal story either of them had imagined, but for Ben, that night confirmed what he already knew: Lauren was his person.
Finally, Their Picture-Perfect Day
After six years of building a life together, Lauren and Ben finally arrived at the moment they had been waiting for, their wedding day. There was the beauty Lauren had envisioned; the classic details, the intimate atmosphere, the gorgeous Sunset Cocktail Courtyard, and the people they love most gathered around them.
Lauren and Ben’s story is a reminder that the best love stories aren’t always perfectly planned. Sometimes you meet because of mutual friends. Sometimes “I love you” happens by accident. Sometimes the proposal involves an ambulance and food poisoning. And sometimes, after all of those imperfect and unforgettable moments, you get to stand beside your best friend and promise to keep choosing each other for the rest of your lives.
Lauren and Ben’s wedding was beautiful, but the love behind it was even more beautiful. Here’s to the beginning of forever.
